Starry Eyes

A little space, a little warmth,

A little love, that’s all

You ever wanted

From this world …

Starry eyes leaped with gladness

Sparkled like twinkles

On crystal clear night.

A touch, just a touch of tenderness

Is all you ever wanted;

But, no, my love,

You were a fool

To not know –

This world is a ‘poor’, ‘poor’ place …

Here diamonds glitter and drinks flow wild

Gold shimmers on skin so white,

Money turns to smoke on dance floors,

And yet, my love, you should have known,

This is a ‘poor’, ‘poor’ world.

All the diamonds and all the gold,

All the money that flows

Is too little to buy for you

That only thing

You ever wanted starry eyes –

‘Love’ … is too precious

In this world so poor!

So, goodbye my love …

I am letting you go

So you can find in another place

All that you ever wanted..

Where the stars of the sky

Will shine bright in your eyes

Where, love will be all around

To wrap you in its sweet arms,

And sing you lullabies !

Heart of Thorns

Thorn

Ripples of fear,

Grips the heart.

Skin wrinkles and tears apart

By trauma,

Oh! The trauma of lashings

Of the heart of thorns;

Clean and smooth

The beauty on surface-

Honeysweet talks

Of empty nothings.

But look! Deep in the darkness

Of the hollow dark abyss

Sweetness boils green and frothy

Venom spurts from eyes so evil

Burning the heart of gold –

The bright yellow slowly in silence

Turns red, the color of blood

Innocence cowers away, dies a slow death.

The devil laughs aloud – victory is here at last….

Its heart of thorns gleams with pride!

Feelings of evil remain

Slyly hidden

Behind smiles charming,

And talks so sweet;

The world moves on

Rolling in green venom,

Reveling in joys of

Selfish desires;

And nothing remains –

No one stays

To lament the loss of innocence

That breathed its last

In a lonely cold corner,

Terror stricken, all by itself

Defeated by the cruel heart of thorns.

Travel & Love

kl

If there is any place

I would rather be,

It is everywhere

Or no where will I be.

Snowy white peaks

Verdant lush of greens,

Cool caressing winds

Rolling surfs,

Lakes so pristine..

Soft sands slipping under feet

Ships on deserts

With Bells tinkling

Shiny sky,

Teasingly twinkling

Nostalgic history

And winding cobbled streets

Leading through time to

Saddened walls of ruins;

Smells and sights so intriguing,

Warmth of strangers touching,

Call of the distance

Tugging at heart

Time and again…

My feet will never stop treading

All paths and places unseen

But ever if my heart stops

Or feet never move

I will lie there –

Upon the fields of green

Under the icy blue of the skies

The soft white pearls

In my eyes

Till I am wrapped in

The neverness of everlasting life.

Hollow of my Heart

images

Years went by

Days slipped away

Hours tip toed slowly out

Minutes bid farewell

As seconds died a slow death.

Springs came by,

Summers burnt in fiery rage,

Rains soothed parched heart

Autumns wilted fresh wounds

Winters numbed the pain.

And yet,

They won’t fade…

Yearnings –

Of your touch,

To hear your loving call again,

To hold you in my arms,

To feel you near

To know you are safe,

Though so far away.

I know, yes, I know..

Nights will wane,

Dawn will be here once more

Many more springs, summers, rains and cold

Will come and go;

But memories of you

Will remain,

In the hollow of my heart,

Preserved with tender sweet love,

By the promise of tomorrow.

A Waiting

waiting

The heart moved slow

Losing its beat,

A song of life

Accepting defeat,

The mind could not feel

The rhythm of its surroundings

Visions were blurred

But something far far away

Strained its strings…

A waiting for the last song

Touch of the known

Voice of someone close

What is it? Who was it?

The eyes could not tell

The ears never heard

A smile was not formed

By the curling of lips

Joy could not find voice

Nor was there a stir …

Only the soul felt the warmth

Of that known soul

Bound alone by the music of love,

Of faith & trust.

A little sign found its way –

An great effort was made

To show happiness that was known

Someday, in a land too far away.

A ripple of soothing calm

Drowned all sorrows

No grief touched

Only a release from

The ties on earth;

A love was felt,

No pains remained –

And yes, at last

A waiting will be no more…

At last amidst the heaven above

A home was found.

A Promise…

Gir Evening

In the fallen leaves

Of withering autumn

The winter chills

And gray so still

Cool summer breeze

Every new leaf

Flowers of spring

I SEE YOU…

In morning calmness

Quiet of the noon

Late night’s bright moon

In all things good,

All things seen

Flowing of a stream,

Burst of shower

I FEEL YOU …

In little cloudy faces

Blue skies on clear days,

Whispers of sea

Comfort of warm waves

Dying sun far away

Rolling lush of greens

Kiss of sweet mist

I MISS YOU …

Realm of earth

Can never hold back

All that is pure,

As some day in a wonderland –

Beyond known paths,

Reasons of trapped hearts,

All words unsaid,

I WILL MEET YOU …

Please hold on my friend

For my days have not waned,

No, not yet –

But I will be there, soon I know,

To see you

Love & hold,

And never to say adieu again.

Saying Adieu

DSCN2419

Dark brown broken by only one strip of white

Strong enough to fight off

The strongest enemies

Kind enough to protect

Against all who did not know how to love

The little steps followed

The strong voice bellowed

At one sight of a true friend

The heart knew, when no one cared

No one helped

This friend will always be there,

Cuddling, loving, caring

In sickness and in good times.

The look of trust, of utmost love

In those round clear eyes,

Were just enough to tell her

She was the best friend he never had before.

Through the roughest of times,

Coldest of nights,

And piercing pain,

He looked out for her

The soft touch of comforting warmth.

But on one stormy night

When he looked around

The warm hand, the soft touch could not be found

He cowered, fear gripped his heart …

Where is she?

His last breath caught in his throat,

One last time he wanted to bid adieu

To his truest friend, who failed him just then;

Quiet in his pain,

With the last thoughts of his friend

He closed the eyes …

The storm could harm no more, never again.
